Tahoe Traverse
We rolled into Truckee around 9pm. Dusk was turning to night, but we had reached our destination without the need for any lighting. The goal for the last stretch of the trip. Archie and I haven't done a trip together in a few years, in many ways this trip was a reunion, a tribute to adventures past, and a way to discover his new home.
After riding all day, loitering rather, we pushed through 100km of bike paths and main roads, to make it home before dark.
It was the third and final day of our lap around Lake Tahoe, California. The goal was to ride as much off-road as possible, along singletrack and fire roads. Our first two days took us along sections of the magical Tahoe Rim and Flume Trails.
Camping up high, tackling high temperatures, some technical sections and flowing descents.
Winding our way up and down the Sierras, crossing into towns along the way, stopping for bagels, tacos and burgers. We were in America after all.
